Assoc. Prof. Dr.
Elif Ceren Yeşilkaya

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Ceren Yeşilkaya completed her medical education at Çukurova University in 2011. Ranking among the top 20 nationwide in the Medical Specialization Exam, she began her residency training at Beyoğlu Eye Education and Research Hospital, one of the leading institutions in ophthalmology, completing it in 2017. During her residency, she received comprehensive training in general eye diseases and subsequently specialized in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery.

Between 2017 and 2020, he completed his mandatory service at Adıyaman Gölbaşı State Hospital; during this period, he successfully performed nearly 1,000 cataract surgeries, as well as many other surgical interventions such as blepharoplasty, nasolacrimal duct obstruction, and strabismus surgeries. In 2019, he worked as an observer in the field of oculoplastic surgery at the Royal Free Hospital in London under the supervision of Dr. Hugo Henderson.

Between 2020 and 2021, she worked at Adana City Training and Research Hospital, and between 2021 and 2024, she worked at Istanbul Şişli Hamidiye Etfal Training and Research Hospital. During this period, she managed the Cornea-Anterior Segment and Oculoplasty units; she also worked as the cornea transplant responsible physician. During her tenure, she performed corneal transplants, complex cataract surgeries, eye and pupil injury repairs, secondary intraocular lens implantations, as well as functional and aesthetic eyelid surgeries and tear duct obstruction operations in the field of oculoplasty. She also played an active role in the theoretical training and cataract surgery practice of assistant doctors during this period.
In 2023, she won a scholarship from the International Ophthalmology Fellowship Foundation (IOFF) and worked as an observer (fellow) at Saarland University Eye Clinic, one of the centers with the highest number of corneal transplants in Germany, under the supervision of Dr. Berthold Seitz, focusing on special corneal transplant patients and surgeries.

Additionally, she successfully completed the international Refractive Surgery Alliance Fellowship program, founded by Dr. Guy Kezirian, which brings together refractive surgeons from around the world.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elif Ceren Yeşilkaya, who has contributed to numerous national and international scientific publications, continues to offer her patients the most effective treatment options by combining her profession with innovative surgical techniques and the latest technologies. She currently works at the Medicana Zincirlikuyu Hospital Eye Diseases Clinic.
