Eyelid Cosmetic Surgery
What is it? Recovery Process
Eyelid cosmetic surgery is a surgical procedure performed to correct aging, sagging, puffiness, or deformities around the eyes. The main types are as follows:

• Blepharoplasty (Eyelid Surgery): Rejuvenation of the eye area is achieved by removing or reshaping excess skin, fat tissue, and muscle in the upper and/or lower eyelids. This procedure can be performed for both aesthetic reasons and to widen the field of vision.
• Eyelid Ptosis Surgery: This procedure involves strengthening or shortening the muscles to lift the eyelid when it is lower than normal.
• Eyelid Correction Surgery: This is performed to correct congenital or acquired eyelid deformities (such as entropion and ectropion).
• Removal of Lipomas or Cysts: This involves the surgical removal of small tumors or cysts that form on the eyelid.
These surgeries are usually performed under local anesthesia and help the patient achieve a younger, more dynamic appearance by reducing signs of aging.
Recovery Process
The recovery process after eyelid cosmetic surgery is generally quick and comfortable. Mild swelling, bruising, redness, and sensitivity around the eyes after surgery are normal; these symptoms usually subside within 1-2 weeks. Applying cold compresses and keeping the head elevated in the first few days helps reduce edema. Temporary symptoms such as dry eyes or watering may occur until the eyelids are fully healed. Antibiotic and anti-inflammatory eye drops prescribed by the doctor should be used regularly. Stitches are usually removed after 7-10 days, and patients can return to their daily activities. The process of complete healing and achieving a natural appearance takes approximately 4-6 weeks. During this period, it is important to protect yourself from the sun and avoid strenuous exercise.
